How to Construct A Closet Organizer
People seem to add a piece of clutter every single day. Even if you tidy up the clutter for a day, clutter still remains, making everything look messier rather than tidier. You bury your cluttered under your things, making everything more cluttered than ever, like a brand new dress that just got lost in your closet. That is why you need to install a closet organizer to be able to find your stuff that has been disappearing a lot. Here are some steps that you need to follow in the correct order so that you can achieve a cluttered-free closet space.
First thing that you need to do is measure the dimensions of your closet: the height, depth of each wall. You can draw it on a graph paper if you like to get the exact measurements of the scale.
Next is to design your closet organizer that you can make and finalize the design of your closet. It is composed of two tiers for hanging clothing, shelves, and some storage bins. For deep closets, you have to go from the door to the back wall. For shallow ones, you have to go from side to side. But the similar style can be used for both depths of a closet.
The next step to designing a plan is to buy the needed materials. When you are considering linear board fee, you have to add 10 percent for cuts. It is better to purchase one board with two extra boards just in case you slash a board too short. If you want help, you can always enquire the service desk at the store.
Next is to start building the supports for the shelf. You are going to need shelf supports to be able to hang your shelves. The height of the closet should at least be 84 inches from the floor area for an 8 foot ceiling. This can provide enough space for storing stuff on the top shelf. In installing the boards, use drywall anchors for a stronger instalment. If you want multiple supports, measure down from the first set of supports and attach the second set of supports. 8 to 12 inches below the first set is a good guide.
Then start building the central shelving unit. You can create this by simply measuring the bottom of the last shelve to the floor area of the closet. Cut two side panels with appropriate length. The measurements should be 72 inches to 76 inches when you are creating two shelves. Always measure two times and cut only once. After cutting the sides, check the fit of each side. If they are lengthy, trim off the excess but be sure not to trim too much off. Four boards should be cut for the center shelves. They should be 1 foot in length. Using 2.5 inches wood screws instead of nails, screw the sides to the center for a more secured hold on the shelves. Then put the center shelving unit on your own chosen place. This is an open standing system so you do not need to attach it to the wall.
Lastly, buy the hardware that is going to be used to hang the dowels. You need at least 6 brackets. Make sure that you have clearance for the hanger. The brackets should be attached 2 to 3 inches below the lower shelf. For the lower dowels, the brackets have to be 38 inches above the floor. Be sure to slip the dowel rods in.
Now that you have an idea on how to build a closet organizer, start doing it for your closet. You will be amazed on how your closet can turn into a tidy and clutter free one.
